A: ewww...go to the Oasis for the view and drinks...not for the food. and you can go to Ruth Chris in any old city. I have a lot of faves (and most of them you can only find in Austin or Texas): Soul Food: Hoovers Mexican Food: Maudies (Lamar Location) and Gueros Fancy Mexican Food: Iron Cactus and Cantina Laredo Sushi: Uchi American/Brunch: South Congress Cafe (I just ate there today for the first time...AMAZING) American Chain: Roaring Fork (the Stephen F. Austin bar upstairs has one of the best views in the city) 24 hour joint: Kerby Lane and Magnolia (both are really great and have great Austin flair) Fusion/fancy: Roy's Buffet: Buffet Palace Asian: Suzi's Bar: Cuba Libra Movie and Dinner: Alamo Drafthouse.
