Where is the best breakfast place in or around Phoenix, AZ?

Q: Anywhere from the East Valley to Downtown Phoenix I am looking for a good, moderately priced place to eat that is not a chain restaurant.

A: There's a place on North 19th called My Mothers Restaurant, west side of the street in an old, and I mean old, strip shopping center. Go north on 19th from McDowell Road to Indian School Road, thru the intersection and look on the left just past Indian School Road. Really ugly Blue and White sign. From the outside, looks like a place you would not go near. The inside is another story, family type restaurant. great food, great prices, and, definitely not a chain. Lunch and dinner are way up there too. We stopped in last time we were in town for an event, and found 20 others from the same event there too! And we were all from out of town and in groups of 3 or 4. And it was packed, locals and tourists alike. Friendly staff, superior food and portions, just looks like hell from the outside. Guess you can't judge a book by its cover.
