Q: I'll be in portland this weekend and am looking for a funky or interesting restaurant for dinner. I am willing to try any cuisine but want the restaurant to be different and fun.

A: Andina in the Pearl District is considered one of the top restaurants in town, very unique Peruvian food, though more on the pricey/fancy side. Pambiche has been a favorite for years, Cuban food in a funky painted building in NE Portland. Moderatly priced. Pho Van, multiple locations, has great Vietnamese food. Also, I know it's not food related, but if you like books check out Powell's in the Pearl District, one of the best book stores in the world. Have fun!
