Q:

A: Pfft. I *wish* I made $65-77k. And you are totally in the wrong category. Should've posted this to either Higher Ed (where I would've seen it -- just found this 'cause I wanted to post opinions on my fave East Bay restaurants) or Careers and Employment. Epidemiologists in California make anywhere from $38k to $80k DOE. About $58 is average. I make less than that because my employer is well known for low-balling. I could make a little more in SF, Alameda or even poor counties that have trouble attractive epis. Just to be relevant, early in my epi career, I collaborated with the epi in SF to investigate a foodborne outbreak. Some restaurants in SF were selling contaminated shellfish, and some folks from my region got sick when they traveled and dined in SF. Good times!
