Q: My hubby and I are celebrating our first anniversary on Monday and I want to have a romantic private dinner at a nice hotel. We're still in school so it's gotta be affordable. We live in Palo Alto so anywhere between San Fran and San Jose is fine. Any suggestions? Thank you! Thanks so much for your answers, especially the third one! :o) The restaraunt on a hill gave me an idea, so I made reservations in Pacifica (about 45min away) at the Ristorante-Portofino in the Best Western Lighthouse Hotel.
A: Well in Palo Alto, all the restaurants are outrageous, I know, I live there. The Van's in Belmont is really nice. Hotels are going to be pricey. The Stanford inn is nice, the Four Seasons on 101 in E.P.A. is great, but pricey. There are some nice restaurants on California Ave that are new and nice. Ciabo on El Camino in Palo Alto is great.
