Q: A couple of people and I are new to the area and we are trying to find somewhere to watch the NFL on Sunday. We are in the Loop area. Preferably somewhere we can get to by Metrolink. The only thing I've found so far is Hooters downtown. Thanks.

A: Hmm....if you want to ride metrolink to watch the game, that makes it tough. There also aren't really very many good places in the Loop to watch sports. I know someone mentioned Skybox which is the Nelly, Larry Hughes, etc club on the Landing. Ive not been there, btu you could certainly ride MetroLink there. There are some places along Washington Avenue downtown like Flannery's that would be good. I would also think that Mike Shannon's would be good as it's a sports place, but that isn't the least expensive place you could go. Some other ideas, although they would be quite a walk from where you are, or Metrolink would be the Highlander which just opened across I-64 from Forest Park between Hampton and Kingshighway. I went there to watch the Mizzou football game a couple weeks ago and they had a lot of TVs and the food was pretty good for a pub. Another idea would be the St. Louis Sports Zone which is in Shrewsbury. You could ride Metrolink to the Shrewsbury station and walk from there, but it would probably be a mile or more. I've been her many times for football games, they have all the games and actually show them on the many TVs around. It's usually got a good crowd and people cheering for a multitude of different teams. There are lots of good bars for watching Sports around town, they just aren't close to Metrolink. If you need some other ideas you can drive to feel free to ask.
